Tapping a bottle jack for a pressure gauge

Anyone ever done it? All of the jacks I have seen that are already tapped are expensive.

I need to add a pressure gauge to a bottle jack so I can calculate the amount of force it is applying.

I need to tap into the high pressure vein and would prefer to not just drill random holes

Its tough to tell where to drill from the outside

Is there a "safety release valve" on your jack? Might be able to tee into that.
