Tapping sound from the front of the motor *Think I fixed it*

Didnt try removing the fan belts, but Ive probed all the accesories, and none of em have the noise.

Ive thought about what someone said above aboutt he cam tapping, but with nearly 15k on the motor, If the machine shop forgot to put in a cam button or whatnot, it should have been tapping long ago.

The balancer doesnt appear to have the wobble, just the pulley, which is why I am now thinking perhaps it is the pulley.

Havent tried pulling plug wires yet, Im waiting on it to quit raining at the moment, will try that later.

Could a wrist pin sound like it is in front of the motor? I guess anything is possible w/ metal resonance, but it sounds like its in front of the actual block.

Ok, rain quit for a few mins, ran out there, started it, pulled each plug wire off while it was running, no change in the sound. If I take off the belts, how long can it run without the waterpump? Also, can I take off the crank pulley and not have the balancer come flying off (Im sure I can, but just wanting to be sure). Unfortunately, its raining pretty good right now, so give me some more guidance for the next break in the clouds.

O yeh, I just double checked it, the crank pulley wobbles, but the balancer is steady, it doesnt wobble.

Went out, pulled the crank pulley, fired it up, no noise, looked at the pulley, bolts holes were oblonged. Looked at the bolts, apparently when we swapped motors we put in the wrong bolts, they werent all threaded, they had a fair bit of shank exposed. Enough, so that the pulley couldnt be tightened down all the way. Scrounged some more bolts, sounds quiet now.

I wont update this if it didnt fix it. Come to charlotte, look for my truck, dispose of my body and take the truck.
