tb spacers

sounds like the right choice for you then. i have to drive about eleventy billion miles to get outside the city and to a legal offroad park, so highway cruising is important. as it is now, i get 12-16mpg on an offroad daytrip. with the 4-hole, it was more like 10 because the engine was all low-end and cruising at 70 made it keep downshifting and revving. it's what i would use if i never drove over 50 or 60mph. the open spacer made it easy to cruise at 80+, but it took longer to get there and it really hurt my offroad performance.

subscribed. Lots of good info. I have a 383 TBI and I wanted to chime in and see if anybody is running one of these spacers on a stoker which already has a lot of low end torque. After reading this, is seems that I could benefit from the open type so balance out my power.

Not sure about now but when I had my Blazer 8-10 years ago these guys were a big name for their TBI upgrades and rebuilding.

follow the TB mods and you will be surprised.

That is some awesome information!

I'm going to start with the MSD coil and see where that leads me. I'm not sure when the last time my Sub has had a cap, rotor, or plugs done either so I might as well do it now. Getting 12.5 MPG most of the time with mostly city driving.

I hear timing makes a huge difference too. Mine is still runnign damn rich, so I dont know.. any thoughts?

You dont want to run any more than 4* advance with TBI unless you have a custom chip.
I have ran mine at 4* on the stock chip. It does make more power at WOT. But at highway cruise I get quite a few counts on the knock sensor and the ECM is constantly backing off timing and adjusting the AF ratio.. Which gives worse Gas MPG.
I have found 1 -2* works real good for me. But I am running a 590 CFM TB with fuel pressure at 13 PSI. It keeps my BLM right where it should be on the highway and I get good MPG.
