I have a TBI throttle body from (IIRC) a 89-91 Suburban, I pulled it off one in a junkyard a few years ago. I know it does have one extra vacuum port on the front that my 88 throttle body doesn't have. Ran it on my 88 for a while with the port plugged and no issues.
Here's why it's so cheap- I attempted to bore it out and smooth the edges of the bores, much like what you get when you buy an aftermarket TBI setup. It worked alright- it felt like I gained some power according to the ever reliable butt dyno, but the engine ran a little rougher and loped a little at idle. I ran it with this for a few years, so it certainly worked well enough to run, but I decided to put the stock one back on and just upgrade it with the off the shelf stuff.
In retrospect the attempted mod was probably dumb, but I got the thing cheap and wanted to see how it worked. Anyway, its taking up space and before i pitch it I figured I'd see if anyone wants to see if they can make it work a little better, or just wants some spares for cheap (injector pod, injectors, and throttle blades are all untouched).
I'm glad to meet someone in the Springs for free, or I can ship it though I don't know if the post office will be happy about that since it smells like gas. I'd be glad to find out though, if you're interested.
