TBI 350........beef it or swap it

I can honestly say that a 6.0 swap was the best thing I could have ever done to replace the tbi350 that I had in my 91 v10 blazer. Hows this for clutter??

Well I must admit it looked alot better with with cadillac escalade engine covers installed. I would do it again at the drop of a hat, but would go with an nv4500 instead of the 4l80e for simplicity. I was considering doing some work to the tbi 350, but in the end would have cost me more money to get done what I wanted to, which was a forged 383 shortblock, vortec heads, vortec manifold, keeping tbi injection and having a 454 throttle body installed and ported and a custom chip burned. On a budget I would go with just vortec heads, rv cam, and a manifold to bolt up the tbi.

If you can't I could burn you one using the stock 7.4 binary. You probably would need a bigger radiator but you would need that with a 383 or even a hot rodded 350.

If you stick with a small block, I would definitely go with a 383 for the added torque with all other things being equal. You could go on up to a 415 or 427 but the cost climbs pretty steeply then. The stock 5.7 throttle body, 1 11/16" bores, flows enough air to make around 330 to 340 hp and 400 to 410 lbs-ft of torque on a 90% VE 383. This requires non-stock intake, heads, cam and exhaust.

PM me if you would like a build sheet for the 383 TBI motor I put together for my 90 Blazer. 370 hp at 5200 and 420 lbs-ft at 3500.


Sorry it took so long to respond, I decided to rebuild the block its currently at the machine shop. I still need to order the SDPC TBI vortec head kit. Not to sure where to start on the TBI. Maybe just a AFPR, Injector risor, and fuel pump, then if i have to a 750 or so xtremfi-throttle body. I just wanna push 300-350 hp.
 
I hate u, im so damn jealous thats what i wanted so bad. 6.0 next time o yeah and the damn 4180. If i would have had more time i would of went your route.
