So after my 14 bolt swap is done (which I still am spending way to much money on) I am going to be building up my 1989 TBI 350.
So far I have headers with a 2.5 Y pipe to a cat, muffler and a single exit out the side of the body (like a trophy truck).
I have a couple things I want to do/ buy for a mild build.
So this is one of them:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K12-268-4/?rtype=10 with pushrods of course, is this a good deal/set? I'm not looking for a huge build up, I just want to beat ricers at lights since this is my DD.
Then I was thinking http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-3704/ with all the TBI goodness.
For heads I was just going to port and polish my stock heads, is this worth it? I don't want to spend stupid amounts on heads.
I was going to get a chip from TBIchips and the high pressure fuel pump/regulator. Will all this work? What am I missing because I'm sure I am. Also BIGGGG noob here can I install these and drive my truck? I'm okay if it isn't tuned perfectly as long as it will drive. The chip will come after everythings in unless I can't drive it.

Go roller cam & lifters, you won't regret it.

I had the engine in mine rebuilt basically stock, they did have to bore out the cylinders a bit, but other than that, everything was cleaned, replaced wear parts but had the shop add the roller cam assembly.

First thing I noticed is the engine ran smoother, like less vibrations smoother.

I didn't see a cam card there but those specs are ususally hard to EFI tune... 214 and 224 duration at .050 max... is easy tune. Look for specs from idle up, not 1500 RPM up, match intake to cam, headers will be fine after that.

Roller is the way to go...

I built a 96 engine with the roller systems and must agree 4xcrazy. You won't regret it. it runs smoother and it's suppose to be less wear and tear. I used the cam system you posted above on another engine and it's great, howerver that one is carburated.

I'm getting a chip from TBI chips once its all said and done. I just want to know if I'll be able to drive it without a chip but with the cam. As much as I'd love to go with a roller I think I'm going to go with a flat. Money is a deciding factor and its only going to be apart once (hopefully) and I don't feel like dumping a lot of money on the motor. I'm going to be getting a mild build going and then building one on a stand over time.

It will run but not to best of abilities.

Find someone to tune it in person or at least set your self up to data log properly or your chip will just be a guess.

Alright, what kind of power could I expect from all this? and are stock heads worth porting and polishing?
