So I am swapping an '89 350 into my S10. If I get this motor with complete wiring harness and computer, do I just have to run power to it? What do I have to do to the computer? Any help will be greatly appritiated!

I'm a memeber here, though I haven't been around in a loooong time.

you will need motor mounts, electric fan, fuel pump outlet mods, etc etc. I have a book on swapping in v8s, just never did it. The stock s10 computer can be re-programmed I believe, but with that old of an engine I'm not sure. This website has some links to wiring companies that make the swap painless.

If it's a 2 barrel V6 TBI use the same wiring harness in the truck and cheange the ECM to the one that came with the 350.

I'm a member there too. And I have the book, the only problem is that the book is out dated and doesn't even mention the newer body style and doesn't talk about wiring at all. The wiring company that sponsors the site only deals with LT1 and LS based engines.
Since I have the 2.2L I would have to use all the wiring and computer from the donor truck. I just want to know things like: do I need to modify the computer? What do I have to splice into the new harness?
