I have a GM crate 350 TBI with est 20k (came in k5 friend replaced it) inside motor is clean as can be and runs good besides egr. New belts, dist, wires msd, coil msd, border throttle body with flow matched injectors and upgraded fuel pressure regulator. Thinking out loud whats it worth to off set price of 5.3 swap?

oh my telling you it's once piece rear main with center bolt valve covers,no oil leaks, and still has some what of factory sticker on oil pan might help.

My local craigslist is littered with them for $400-500. And they don't seem to be moving. Can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting an SBC. Now LS motors seem to be made of gold. Those are $1500 for a 250,000 mile 5.3. Bend over and grab you ankles if you want a 6.0.

If you've got receipts its not just some dressed up junker you'll have a leg to stand on too. Theres still loads of hotrod guys out there sticking to SBCs.

Actually in the truck and running! No fancy chrome or bling just a clean and strong motor. Would try to sale and let buyer here it runs/test drive first.

Yeah thats the best way to go. I would have much more confidence in throwing down $1000 on a SBC given its running condition has ALOT to do with value. Its not like an LS motor where it has a value just as a basis to switch platforms.

TBI motors with ECM and harness are going for 400, 5.3's are going for 800- 1200 around here.

Bought a low mile 350 4 bolt main for a hundred bucks. Under 5k miles on it.

But it was just sittin in buddies shop for a couple years collecting dust :haha:

To me a tbi motor would be $3-600, but like said being able to run/drive it makes it worth more $$$

I paid $1500 for low mile 290hp crate fully dressed with edy intake, holley TB, headers, painless harness, ECM w/tuned PROM, and walbro fuel pump.

Selling the fully dressed, perfectly running carbed 350 that it replaced for $150

I think the market is a little different around here though.
