I had been getting an intermittant code 44 on my TBI swapped 77 K10. Code 44 = Lean exhaust reading at the O2 sensor.
It would pop the light sometimes at idle and sometimes at cruise. So I put together my checklist and went out to troubleshoot. Started with the easy stuff like O2 sensor wires and vac lines. I got under the hood to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and disconnected the line. While nudging the fuel line around I notice my TBI is doing the twist. The friggin TBI unit was loose, I can't believe the damn thing was even running.
I haven't had it out for a run yet but it sure ran smooth at idle and didn't throw a code after being tightened. Anyhow if your throwing a 44, have a significant mileage decrease, or are running rich check your tbi unit first.
sigh........
