I'm swapping from a 305 to a 350 in my '87 K5. I know about getting injectors, knock sensor, fuel regulator and chip. I have a question about the computer. I found a '88 1 ton with an auto (not sure which one the tranny was gone), will this computer work with my '87 K5 with the 700R? Thanks for the info.

Yeah the '7747 covers 350/700. Loads of info over at thirdgen.org in the TBI and DIY prom boards, or ask away here, you'll get all the answers you need!

Thanks for the input. I ordered a new set of 55 lbs injectors already. I was wondering if the computer I found out of a '88 1 ton with a 350 and auto tranny would be compatable with my '87 swapped in 350 and 700R. I'm unsure of the auto tranny that came with the 1 ton. I'm pretty sure there is a difference between the 350/manual and the 350/auto chips. I just wanted to make sure that computer I found 350/auto 1 ton would be generic enough to work with my 350/auto. My main concern is getting the tranny to work right with the computer.

If it's a 7747 it will work. There is no difference in the computer between 400 700r4 and 4 speed, the difference is in the chip and wiring harness. If you have the chip to match your powertrain you're in business.

Sweet, that is what I was looking for. Now to get the new engine back in. Fun fun. Thanks for the info.
