TBI data issues

Ok I am having some problems getting data out of my blazer. It is tbi 350 w/a 7747 computer and I made my own cable. It worked for a while and then I didnt use it for awhile and now nothing. I did make a new cable today that was a lot better than the last one. I also used the 12 volt supply and still could get nothing to show up on my laptop.

Now, I did run the engine on accident with the computer in "code reader" mode, could that have screwed up the computer?

I just want to log some data and see what is going on as far as sensors go, but I cannot get this to work at all.

Anyone have any suggestions? THanks

Make sure the Baud setting and com port settings are correct. Also is it a serial cable or a USB cable? That makes a difference in what Baud setting you use (i found that out myself).

it is a serial cable, what do i need to set the settings to?

When i had a serial cable i had to have the Baud set for 2400 and you need to play with the COM port until it works.

I'm currently using a USB cable and i had to change my Baud to 4800 and my COM port is set for COM3.
