What are my options for an aftermarket distributer for a tbi setup. Can I get something like the mallory ultra lights and msd boxes?

A search on summitracing.com for a 91 pickup with a v8 gave me a search for five different distributors ranging from 145-300 dollars.

Is your current one broken? There is no magic in a TBI distributor. It just spins. No mechancial or vacuum advance, so I don't see any advantage in spending dollars on a "high performance" one.

Thats part of what I was wondering. I've just about rebuilt the factory one now. Didn't know if there was some better spark and control for tbi. Thanks guys.

I doubt you'd gain any HP from the distributer alone. Maybe the coil but it would be a very small gain, hardly even noticeable on the dyno.

I'd suggest doing a cam or even better, slapping on some cheap Vortec heads.
