TBI Engine performance upgrades question

Your best bet would be to either get a set of flow matched injectors or get your current ones cleaned. The guy at turbo city told me that with the 68 lb/hr injectors you would be creating more problems with a stock motor. If you changed heads and increased the compression ratio the 68 lb/hr might be better for you. Give turbo city a call and tell him want you want to do, and call up some cam manufactures and get their advice. On my 91 I have the bored out throttle body, flow matched injectors, vacuum fuel pressure regulator, shorty headers, and a 3'' gibson exhaust. I orginaly had a Jet fuel pressure regulator, but ditched it in favor of the vacuum one. I wouldn't recommend the Jet one, couldn't get my motor to run right with it and it's a pain to adjust. I would also get a fuel pressure gauge from here CFM tech

how much was the vaccum fuel pressure regulator and what part number or vehicle reference did you give to get the correct one?

Thanks

Tim

Thanks for the part number.
Went over the prices with the wife and she was like /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif.
So going to trim back a bunch.
Going to at least do the exhaust, headers, high flow cat, flowmaster muffler?, as a 3 inch single.
Maybe skip the cam and just replace the lifters and timing chain.
Not sure yet but I think the exhaust will make a nice difference that she will be happy with.
Hey I have seen a few "cat back" exhaust systems in summit but none for 91 Subs, will any of the Chevy truck systems fit my sub with minor tweaking?

Thanks for everyone's information it really helped me out.

Tim

I know Flowmaster makes a Cat back kit for 3/4 ton Subs.
I put one in a buddys 3/4 ton sub. I think it is a 90 or 91. Call summit they should be able to help you out.

And oh yeah! Flow matched Injectors /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Love them.
Really make your tuuck run smooth.
