Don't know if its a 5.0 or a 5.7 but is there any reason why this won't work. I can pretty much pull anything off the car that I need. I have never really done much with fuel injection except for Holly pro jection. It will be going on my 5.7 with a 350 trans and a 203 case.

TBI makes it pre-1991...so unless it was a cop car it's a 305. If it was a cop car it's a 350.

You could probably get it to work, the rule of thumb I've heard is you can change the engine size by 10-15% without much worry. You probably would benefit from bigger injectors and a PROM re-programming to get things optimal.

You'll need to ditch the mechanical fuel pump you have, and get a higher-pressure electric pump (in-tank would be the best). You'll also have to plumb a fuel return line to the tank.

Your engine may not have the means for sensor attachment, so you'd also have to work around that.

caprices were TBI til 94 when the LT1 came out.

if you grab the intake you'll need the distributor too as it is a different size hole in order to allow for the dist. to be pulled out while the motor is still in the car.

it doesn't really matter what motor it is just look at the injector color. police package "9c1" uses a bigger injector.

Yep TBI on Caprice ended in 90 with the square body style. At least on the black and whites.

91 was the first year of the scud / shamu / upside down bathtub style caprice. Great cars after 90. I would still take one over the turd crud victoria.

94 was a big improvement and I believe that was the LT1.

But the TBI normal looking carb style definately ended in 90 and 91 had non-TBI injection.

It is a 93 and sure looks like a TBI to me. Ex police car, it is a 350 I plan to get a F.I. tank for a blazer and run a stock pump, plumbing fuel lines is easy enough. I think I will take the whole intake manifold. I can take a pic of the motor and the injection if you guys think I am wrong. I really don't know much about fuel injection, really want to put this on the blazer, just want to make sure I get everything off the car I need before we crush it.

I have the whole motor sitting in my garage gonna take the whole intake manifold off it taking the distributor, all the wiring that I even think might go to the fuel injection getting the computer. Anything else I should look for, any sensors on the firewall I might need? I will get a pic of the motor up tommorow

Take everything that every wire connects to, and sort it out later. If you don't, you'll figure out what you need after the donor is gone.

There are very few wires you need to cut, almost everything will unplug in one location or another, short of some of the wires from the fuse panel.

both of you who claim they ended tbi caprices in 90 should read my sig. i own a 1993 caprice......

Hmm must have just changed the look of the Carb because it definatley had the look more like MPFI or something. the 90 had a normal looking carb with the injectors hanging, like my motor out of a 93 sub has

I have had and driven Caprices for months on end of the following years.
90, 91, 93, 94, Then I got to play with camaros.

Now I am stuck with a ford:doah:

OK...congrats, I guess. Perhaps that adds to a long list of anomalies and uncommon combinations from GM over the years (especially in transition years). Based on what info I could find, I'll stand by what I said as a general rule.

Frankly, for the purpose of this thread it doesn't really matter. I'm sure blazinzuk can figure out which FI system he has, and he wanted to know the ease of swapping it over to his engine. I was just guessing as to what he may have had, without originally knowing the year or cop/non-cop status of the car.

Its definately a TBI I know one when I see one. This was a cop car so mabey thats a special deal it is a 93 caprice. Getting all the wiring tommorow hopefully if the guy I am getting it from wakes up at a decent time.

thats the car I have and yes it is a different injector and if you grab the intake you will need the distributor out of it as well so they match. Also if the motor is there might as well grab it too. nice base for a good build. After the guy flaked on me again on buying mine I'm gonna be going into my burb with a new cam.

so 55 couple of questions. Will the intake bolt onto my old motor or is there a difference, got the motor out just haven't really looked close at it.

I plan on taking the whole intake manifold and disty. Now all I need is a fuel pump, any suggestions on a pump

what year block? you will need to hog the center 2 bolts on both sides to a different angle. I'v done that one 2 motors and works great.

on the burb i'm gonna be using the cop car tank as I just put a new pump in it.
