My 83 has TBI and a tank from a 1990 IIRC. I've been running the original 1983 steel lines for fuel: rubber hose from tanks to factory steel, then out to 1990 fuel filter (with hose adapters), then hose up the to TB. Even though I had a carb, I have had a return line all along.
My biggest problem is that the angle of the 1990 sending unit outputs is off from the 1983 steel, so I ended up making a full loop of hose once around the sending unit to make the connection without a hard kink. The connection at the fuel filter is a slight kludge too since I had to attach hose nipples to it.
So my question is, has anyone simply bought TBI year steel lines and hooked them up? I think someone told me that 1987 was still on passenger side. I'm looking for better options.

, so I had to buy all new lines to swap on my 80 frame.
