Is it possible to have too much pressure from a fuel pump on a tbi setup? I know the TB will bleed off anything above 13psi or so...

My question is will I be okay running a pump rated at 39psi? Will the regulator handle bleeding off that pressure constantly? Should I run an external regulator?

Thanks.

As long as your return line is properly sized you shouldn't have any problems. I run a pump that's rated for 90 psi with no problems.

GM TBI's are set from the factory anywhere from 9-13psi. They seem happiest right around 12-13psi.

so a pump that puts out about 12-13 psi is optimum? Asking for a buddy who wants to use my carbed tank/sending unit.

You'd probably want a bit more, because voltage is going to change the pressure, and you've got a pressure regulator in the system.

Easier to get the right sending unit for TBI, and mor ereliable to use a Delco pump.
