I have a 75 Blazer with a carbed 350 motor, I kept having to rebuild the carb because the tank was rusty. I happened to have the same size TBI tank already that was brand new so i installed that along with putting an access door in my floor.

Well the truck ran good for a day or two but the gas started to have rust in it again from the old fuel lines, also my carb sending unit is bad so my gauge doesn't work. I am planning on using a fuel injection sending unit and fuel pump through a regulator with my carb for now. Next spring I will do a TBI swap.

I have a stock fuel pump relay off of an 89 Suburban and want to use this to power my fuel pump, there are five wires coming off the relay, orange which chiltons says goes to battery, green and white which I assume goes to keyed ignition, tan and white which again I assume goes to the fuel pump and black and white ground and a red wire with a connector that the diagram calls a "prime conn.

My question is can I wire it in the same way I just described it,orange to battery, green /white to keyed ignition, tan and white to fuel pump and black and white to ground? If so should I wire a fuse between the battery and the relay,if so what amp fuse?

Sorry for the novel, thanks for reading!

Some diagrams are 10 amp and some are 20 amp and some just list a fuseable link. But 20 AMP will do.

You also need to have a return line from regulator with this pump.

Thanks for the reply, I have a regulator with a return already and new stainless braided lines.
