So I fired it up tonight and could not get the fancy new fitting to stop leaking. It has two NPT spots on it, one had to be plugged and the other took the fuel pressure sender. I put permatex thread sealer on and waited 48 hours.
Anyway, the thing was leaking and I kept snugging them down bit by bit, then it started leaking a lot more, so I figured I F'd up the fitting. Pulled it all apart, and both NPT openings have two "lines" in them on the thrreads, but even under a magnifying glass they don't look like cracks. Is this what steel NPT does when you over torque it? Since it's not cracked, do you think I could tap it to clean it up and give it another try? Damn thing cost nearly $40 with shipping.
