Tbi gurus need help

I hear that man i didn'tnotice earlier that it was that far out of wack i was pissed the o2 went screwy again oh well i will try that and see what happens. What do you mean by calibrate i know there is a spring tension setting right.

I can give you a couple of pages from the factory service manual about O2 rich condition. I'm not a member so I can't post the pages. Email me and I will send them to you.

coolant temperature sensor

It sounds like your coolant temperature sensor might be bad, it will cause your engine to run rich.

Key on engine off reads the same as engine on, so it sounds like some screwiness. Can you hold the pedal in the "dead spots" on the TPS?

I've not had a bad one to play around with, but since the data to the scanner is coming so "slow", I'd want to make sure that the values you are seeing aren't a result of the "refresh rate" of the data, if that makes sense.

Does it duplicate the bad readings as you ease off the throttle? Typically they are just that, bad SPOTS, so it should duplicate.

You say it stays in rich mode...you mean the O2 reads rich continously as you decel, or it is staying in power enrichment? Either way it sounds like the TPS is telling the ECM that the throttle is open more than it really is, which would be odd that your voltage readings aren't HIGH off of idle, instead of low.

At this point, regardless of what is doing what and why, it appears the TPS is bad, and no reason to try and diagnose other things if one component is known bad. I'd just make doubly sure TPS is bad. Sounds like it is, but never hurts to double or triple check.

I am going to to double check the tps today. When i first fired up the truck after clearing the codes the o2 switch back and fourth like it should from rich lean and so forth and know it just stays in rich and doesn't come out but the blm on the scanner and the integrator values read it slightly lean. i will go double check in a little bit.

Ok this is what i got off the scanner today.

Sensor Idle 2500 2500 gauge reads 210 degrees
Tps .64v .95v .95
Cool Temp 185 186 188
O2 .23-.85 .14-.87 .07-.85
Vss 000 000 000 it was in park
Rpm 675 2500 2500
Blm 108 108 108
Mat 080 185 dropping 24-311 kept jumping around
Map hg 09 07 07
Map v 1.19 .78 .78
Int 128 119 121
Iac 000 037 059

Idle after 2500 for 10 mins
Tps .66v
Cool 183 gauge reads 200
O2 .18-.88
Vss 000 park
Rpm 850-900
Blm 108
Mat 177
Map hg 09-10
Map v 1.19-1.25
Int 102
Iac 022

These are the specs that i got with engine off key on the Tps
reads idle .62
quater 1.95
half i get a side ways triangle and it reads .00 up to .99 then goes to 3.00
I don't know thanks for checking it out for me thanks for your input.
