So I am trying to fuel inject my 350 84 blazer. Everything is hooked up, computer is out of a 87 pickup. Found out that injectors were bad, so I picked up some injectors at the junkyard. The truck will kinda run for about 2 sec. , but I have to have the gas pedal to the floor. I should mention that the injectors I picked up are for a 5.0L. Would this cause my problem?

it has an external pump. I got it running now, ground to the coil wasn't good. its running pretty rough, but the more i run it the smoother its getting. Im thinking its the old gas in the tank. Plus there is a ton of smoke coming from the exhaust. I also notice that when i let it idle it would go up slow to 1200, then come down a little, then go back up.

Computer out of a 305 too?

Injectors are wrong, you NEED a set of 350 injectors and PROM to match.

As a bandaid you could up the fuel pressure, but right now, you are running lean under WOT and open loop operation, and that WILL kill a motor over time.

How could I check if the computer is 305. Also, I have a pair of injectors from a BB. Would it be better to use those for the time being?

I'd have to look at the injector lb/hr rating to see. Probably not, you'd wash the cylinders with fuel.

Post up the Broadcast Code (BCC) from the PROM. Usually four letters, AWGH for a made up example.

Really doesn't matter 305 or 350 computer with 305 injectors, on a 350 motor, will still run lean.

I got some 350 injectors today but i think the prom I have is for a 4.3. BCC is AKMH. I have another prom ACLX, but i can't find out wats its for. I grabbed it from an late 80's sub.

Thats all I could find on it. I *think* dave w on this site has experience with that BCC, I saw the same username on thirdgen.org (always do a search for whatever BCC there first) mention that BCC and 454.

I emailed Brain at tbichips.com and he said it was 454 so yea. What are the prom codes for a 350? Im going to head to the junkyard tomorrow to grab some.

There are a huge number of them available. Your best bet would be to find a early 90s 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck to pull the chip and injectors from. Pretty unlikely that you'll find a 305 in one of those trucks.

The smaller chip is a ROM (Read Only Memory) chip. I am not entirely sure what info is stored on it, but I've always kept them paired with the bigger PROM

I have several factory chips here i'm not using. I simply pulled them and read them with my chip reader and saved a copy for future reference. If you need one i'd be happy to umm make a deal. IIRC you cannot PM me without being a member?

So that you can research beforehand one of the chips i pulled from a 87 burb and that chip is AFBX was a 350/700R4 combo, the other is a ASDU and i unfortunately did not write down what it came from but i was only pulling chips from vehicles that had a 350/700R4 combo. I do have another but i'm keeping it because it was from a federal emission 89 blazer equipped exactly like mine but for your reference the chip code is ASDZ and was a 350/700R4 combo as well.

So the ASDU you pulled was from a 350/700R4 combo?

I picked up an ECM from a salvage yard today to hopefully fix my burb. The guy at the yard gave me a 1227747 ASDU.

My burb is an '87 TBI 350/700R4 and it's ECM says 1227747 AKAJ. Will it work?
