So I'm about to order my sending unit for my k5. I'm going to be running a carb for now bit might eventually get a ls or do fast TBI conversion. Anybody know if I can change the in tank pump to a higher pressure pump? The stock tbi pump is 14- 25psi. If I were to go to a faast TBI I nneed at least 45 psi. Would a in tank pump work from a 90's vortec chevy?

I use a TPI camaro pump, 50-60psi. Slide right in place of the TBI pump. No funky business. Perfect

Walbro 255LP specd for a TBI truck is plug and play with adapters and everything for wiring.

Right on. What year camaro? Is the walbro like the factory pump? I read some about those failing?

I just read bout a member on here but didn't read anything else about them being bad. But I can't find what psi the walbro puts out?

I started with a Walbro 255 with my FAST install. It never worked right, was loud, and eventually couldn't hold decent PSI.

Switched to an AC Delco pump for the TPI camaro and it's been whisper quiet and problem free. I also noticed the Walbro was a tad heavier, which was odd. I don't remember what the Walbro cost me, but could it really be soooo much cheaper than an AC Delco unit to try it out? I don't know about you, but dropping tanks isn't fun. So now, I have a hole in my bed. :D

Buy it at your local parts store and get a lifetime warranty on them too :D

well, except for Napa. :doah:

AC Delco tpi pump! I did the part's store special didn't last a year.

Delphi pn# FE0110 TPI pump for a 92 Camaro. Direct swap for the TBI in tank pump.

I've run the 255 in Mutt for a couple yr's, flawless...

Maybe there was a bad batch of walbros out there or something...? Ive heard the recommendations that any fuel need over 255s size and you should go with a more expensive "race" oriented brand.
