Do you have a picture of your distributor? I'm curious to see what it's all about.
I did a TBI conversion and kept my HEI. In fact the computer doesn't have any timing control. It only controls the throttle body on my setup. I hooked up the rpm signal to the computer to the tach pin on the distributor through a small filter box so the computer sees rpm and will fire the injectors. I'm sure it's throwing all kinds of codes but I never hooked up my check engine light lol
