TBI keep or swap it!

I have an 89' K5 i need to put an engine back in it soon. Heads are cracked pistion are seized. Need some advice which route to go w/ an engine.

What kind of driving will you be doing most of the time? How much money have you budgeted for the engine project - $500, $10,000, or some other amount? Is passing smog tests an issue?

My opinion is keep the TBI. I have an 89 w/ a TBI 350. Great power for a stocker, and great mileage to boot.

I would agree. TBI is simple, roughly efficient, and its fuel injection!!!

I would keep the TBI, replace the engine. If you're not into building it yourself, a crate motor is a good deal.

I have a Jasper 350 CID Class 1 with stock TBI and chip and she runs like a beast. Great warranty. 36 month/75,000 mile nationwide warranty, better than GM offers. If installing it yourself, defiantly under $3K.

Keep the TBI and mod it. Look at www.tbichips.com for some great info on building a TBI engine.

The 350 Class 1 is 250 HP. I believe Jaspers regular 350 crate is 210 HP.
