So I have pre 86 (383 stroker) engine that I'm building to replace my tired stock 87 tbi engine. I have run into a few problems being that the new engine is a pre 87. One problem is that I want to run a good tbi aluminum manifold but I guess you have to modify 4 bolt holes to make it work on the older heads plus I'm running a larger 1-13/16 bored out tbi. The edelbrock performer tbi manifold only comes with 1-11/16 bore. The holley projection comes with the larger 2'' bore but you have to use an older egr plus modify the bolt holes. I could go with a carb manifold and run a adapter plate which fixes the bolt hole problem but then how does everthing else bolt up and do I still have to use an older egr? Why cant they just make a manifold that works with the older heads and comes with the larger 2'' bore?
