1990 suburban 4x4 2500 won't start at -2 fires up at 5 deg but takes some time to warm up .looks like have to put a block heater on it . Never had to put one on a gas motor before .well never had a tbi before . Anyone running there's below zero having trouble starting .had a lot off carb 350 before that fire up below zero

Well had to put a propane heater under it and got it going. Went to the local part store and picked up a three wire heated oxygen sensor hook it up seem to run better . I also ordered a block heater . battery is fine and I have a high tq starter . I did put dual exhaust on it three months ago

Dual exhaust, if effective, is going to cause it to run lean (if it will start), and that's going to be a larger problem when cold than hot. The heated O2 may be putting it into closed loop faster (GM sometimes ran them on a timer that requires reprogramming to allow closed loop quickly) and thus why you may have noticed a difference.

The inefficient stock exhaust flow may also help keep some of the heat and richer fuel mix in the cylinder.

Probably no one, I agree with the above. No one is suggesting you replace it. Borrow a pressure test setup from autozone if you have them, and find out if yours is still in spec. If it is, no problem with fuel pressure.

Well pulled that motor yesterday and put in a crate motor with a HEI distributor and a carburetor .my old motor had 268,000 on it.

So what did you do about the fuel pump? Curious if you did a compression test on the old engine before pulling it.
