Hey my truck is a 87 K5 w/ 305, 700r and 208.. I am getting a 350 engine that is carbed and i want to keep it tbi in my truck, so i was wondering if i could use the tbi stuff off of a 94 GM Van that had a 350 in it as well, on the new engine that im dropping into my K5 in replacement of the 305 engine.

so your blazer already has tbi? Why not just use all the tbi parts off of your 305 onto the 350?

because i was told that the 305 computer, knock sensor, and injectors will not work on a 350 because of the differences. Haha, every time i seem to research this or ask i get a bunch of conflicting answers

what the computer number? Should be like a 1227477 or something. Knock sensor might be different, I think I do recall reading that. But everything else that I have read says that everything between them is the same.

You are right. The 305 computer will starve the motor of fuel and you wont really notice it until you get almost to the top of a hill and right when you need the power.......... nothing but your motor starving for fuel and that happens when you baja down the trail. This happend to my buddy in his old rig when he put 305 stuff on a 350.

THe 305 will have a different PROM in the ECM (the ECM itself should be the same), knock sensor and injectors. That should be the only differences.

I also think some of the 305's had a different EGR valve solenoid (3-wire vs. 2-wire).....but I could be wrong.
