Found this and was just wondering if I have or had an issue or is it no big deal. My old 87 burb was like this too. I'm gona add that it is running good regardless.

I don't think mine look like that, been awhile since I have had the air cleaner lid off,may go out and look sometime today

Never seen that. The fact you have had others makes me wonder if a cleaner that was used caused it or something in the fuel common to both?
:dunno:

That is not normal. It looks like somebody sprayed a bunch of carb cleaner, or starting fluid into it. or possibly it back-fired at one time out the TBI and caught fire. This is what a good condition TBI injector connector is supposed to look like. Although this is an updated aftermarket version with the rubber injector insulator.

^^^ that's just upside down. The factory one has that rubber part too. And to the OP, I've never seen one like that. I've had 3 TBI equipped trucks. I would go with the carb cleaner or starting fluid theory
