first off, i tried search

questions

should i put money into the 193 i have, they are 87 TBI heads

i am putting this onto 81+ 350

TBI will have custom chip, headers, k&, stock intake, cmmed, pistons, etc

I figure with chip and reconditioned heads, will get 330-360hp..

i am not going to touch the 194 heads, just clean, new valve seals and bolt on and go, etc

Thunder can comment on those heads...apparently you can get decent power out of them. With no work though? Probably not that great, especially for HP numbers.

id like to dip them, put new valve seals, and redo the valves, or leave them.

what CC are 193s,

i want to leave them stock for now.. exhaust as well

but what head gaskets should i run, want to stay on 87+ octane

also, should i go umbrellla valve seals, or positive valve seals

You will never make 330 HP with 193 heads without porting. You will also need A larger TB, Good cam preferably roller. 65PPH injectors, Custom chip.
Edelbrock intake, headers, ECT
280 HP is about all the stock 480 CFM TBI is good for. The stock 193 heads without port work may be good for 300-310 HP with the right cam/intake. They quit flowing around 4500 RPM.
193 heads are 64CC
Valve seals: I have always used Vition positive seals. I don't think the umbrella type fit TBI heads.
If you are getting a new cam. I highly suggest you get new and better valve springs. The stock ones are weak. You have to pull the springs off anyway to replace the seals. So might as well put new ones in.
Head gaskets=Stock Felpro
If you want to run 87 octane keep stock Compression ratio (9.2:1). Do not use flat top pistons If you want to keep the stock Comp ratio. Flat tops will give almost 9.8:1 with 193 heads and you will most likely need to run 92 octane. Depending on the chip programing.

thanx for the freshen up, its been awhile since i rebuilt engines.

i have a chip on the way..
it has a rebuilt bottom end with flat tops i belive, cammed etc, the heads will be getting ported, but the valves look good, so just springs and seals

What chip are you getting? If you are getting it before the engines been datalogged, send it back.

My opinion of course.
