My bro in law just gave me his. For those who have already done it, did you get the fuel line extenders or just tweak the lines? the extenders seem to be nothing more than a 1in extension for 40$ . Im wanting to do it this weekend but will hold off until answers are in and i have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator kit ready

i just tweaked the lines.. but I HIGHLY recommend you put spacers in for the TV bracket if it's a 700r4 to correct cable geometry......

Ahh. Now theres the difference between know how and experience, appreciate it bro, something i didn't even consider.Ill have to dig through my extras bin and come up with some spacers for the bracket.

a pair of cutdown alt spacers found on many motors (alot of chryslers) would work fine..

want a pic? i'll go down and take one if ya want...

I didn't use any fuel line extensions or spacers for the tv cable when I put mine on. Start the fuel lines on before you put the bolts in the spacer, that way you can tilt the spacer a get them started. tv cable seems to be fine I did reset it to make sure it was set properly.

it'll work... it just puts the cable at a bad angle as it enters housing... possibly causing premature wear on the cable...

Spacing the TBI up without spacing the TV cable up the same changes the angular throw on the cable and will eat a 700R4 alive.

why you f#cking with me tonight? :haha:

I'm one of the VERY few that have actually used, and tell people about the spacers... usually i get the barrage of "mine works fine without em!" posts...

and actually if you reset the cable, it works... it's just a bad angle on the cable going into the sheath.. add spacer and don't reset? yeah, that'll nuke the trans quick...

Well, I bought a spacer once and after getting it installed my throttle cable, TV cable AND my cruise control rod would no longer reach the TBI. I immediately removed the spacer and took it back. I then was talking with my trans guy and he told me about how it will change the angular throw on the cable and even showed me and said the ONLY way to do it correctly is to add a spacer the the TV cable as well to raise it as much as the TBI gets raised. Regardless since nothing reached the TBI anymore I just return the spacer and could care less about ever trying another one again. Maybe there are different height spacers (I don't know) but the one I bought was an Airaid spacer and IIRC it was a 1" spacer.

I put a spacer on mine about a year ago. Made a noticeable difference in "off the line" response. I've been happy with it so far. Removed the cruise cable long before I installed the spacer, didn't know it was an issue. As far as the TV cable bracket for the 700R4, I bent it to be more in line with the TB linkage. Was it the right thing to do? seemed good at the time. Adjusted the TV cable and have had no ill effects on the trans to this day. Operates the same as before, so not sure about the "will kill a trans" claims.

Not arguing, just stating my experience with it.

Naw the cable out of adjustment will kill a trans. I work at a transmission shop and have for nearly a decade, thats how i know. The only issue posed by not spacing the bracket is it can wear the lining out of the cable sooner.Im glad to hear of the improvments off the line but am wanting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to do all at once and see more of a bang

The other im wondering about is the injector spacer, claiming more CFM past the injector.
