Thanks for the advice and input. The thing is running like a champ.
Issues discovered:
O2 sensor went bad - was using a 4 wire and dropped back to a one wire. Goes into closed loop fairly quickly.
One of the two new replacement injectors was bad. I had a bad injector and I replaced the pair while I had the thing broken down. I thought the cone didn't look right on one of the replacements, but I dismissed it.
I hooked up a new pressure gauge on the system and ran the pump with the bypass wire. I ran it for a LONG time watching the pressure with the engine off. Nothing unusual happened. I checked the injectors, just by chance, and found the passenger side was oozing a little gasoline. I put the original good injector back in and the idled and ran great. (except for the water pump that started leaking - replaced that today)
