Anyone ever buy a TBI TB rebuild kit from this place?

I'm going to be pulling mine apart to rebuild, and to swap throttle return springs from my S-10's TB (the S-10 one is much smoother and not nearly as stiff as the Blazer's). They also have an in-line fuel pressure gauge I was thinking of picking up...

Thoughts? I'm also thinking about picking up a TB spacer, if I can find one for cheap enough on ebay.

I have the fuel pressure fitting and guage. You will have loads of fun getting the line to fit back into the much longer fitting but it can be done. You have to loosen the coil bracket and then slightly bend the fuel line.

Forget about the TBI spacer. The injector spacer is a good item to buy though.

holley makes a replacment tbi throttle body I was thinking about but after seeing what the out of the box edelbroke carb did to my new 350 in my truck, I"m not sure anymore.

40 buck for a kit doesn't look all that bad

You can pick the rebuild kit up at your local parts store, though the price escapes me at the moment, pretty much making my response null and void.:doah::haha:

I don't trust the guys behind the counter enough to risk spending an hour in there, trying to get them to find the right thing. :doah:

x2 on the injector spacer. and the tbi spacer has been debated to death, but i like mine. keeps the TBI unit a little cooler and i get a better mpg with it. from what i've seen (a few friends have tried them, too) heat disipation and higher efficiency due to better fuel atomization are more realistic than significant power gains from it. i do not prefer the swirl type, which is good, because they cost more, anyway.

I know all about the debate, and 99% of the time, I'm completely against it because it does nothing for a modern fuel-injected engine, as all it does is to create turbulence in the air intake tract, thus slowing airflow down. Hell, by definition, one can tell a TB spacer wouldn't work on any sort of modern EFI system, except TBI (which really isn't modern, anyway).

I'll probably just grab the rebuild kit and the injector spacer.

Got mine at O'reilly's for $20. I found that the spring in my fuel pressure regulator was broken. The only way I found to get a new one was to buy the regulator rebuild kit. It was $30. The only extra part the reg. kit had that the TBI kit didn't was the spring.

No O'reilly's around here, although we do have NAPA. Might stop by there tomorrow evening and see what they have.

There are good TB spacers that do work and build more power. There are 2 kinds of TB spacers. The big thick 2 hole kind that everybody buys, and the open Pentium kind. Open Pentium spacers have a open space between the holes. The 2 hole type don't build horse power they just move the power band down a little in the RPM range. They add runner length which builds low RPM torque.. This increases low speed air velocity and builds torque faster at low RPM. Thats why they give better throttle response and maby better MPG.
The open Pentium type allow the engine to draw air /fuel from both barrels of the TB. This increases air flow and gives more power in the mid to top RPM range.
The only 2 TB spacers I have found that really work are the ones from Turbo City and CFM tech. I like the turbo city ones because they are only 1/2" inch thick and don't change the TV cable geometry like those big thick 2 hole T spacers.
I have never tried CFM tech spacers on TBI but i have one on my boat (Carbed) and it gave me about 3 MPH on my top end. Which is a substantial gain on a boat.

I'm not trying to use this thread as a for sale one but I do have an extra cfm-tech tbi spacer I could sell.

here is a link to the one I have http://marine-performance-parts.com/cfmtechpowerplatefor435057gmtbiwsingleaircleanerstud.aspx

hi.. sorry but i just came across this thread because i was trying to read up on these throttle body spacers that a friend of mine suggested. been visiting forums in case i can find some feedback on whether or not i should even bother.

I put one on about a year ago, 1" thick 2 hole style. I have been pleased with it thus far. Definitely improved low end throttle response. No change to the way my trans shifts to this date, before or after install of the TBI spacer.

Your link is whacked out. This one should work:

Edit, try THAT one. Links should not have spaces ... sheesh, who made that site?
