I am the proud owner in a love/hate relationship with a '91 Suburban which the PO dropped a 383 carb'd engine in. It works, but the throttle is extremely heavy under foot and the rigged bracket, which holds the throttle return spring, gives me pause. The PO is using the original throttle and TV bracket behind the carb and rigged a return spring bracket forward of the carb for the throttle. Myself.... I think there is an actual engineered part for it which would give a better throttle peddle feel/response. I just don't know what to google for to find what I need. I feel like there should be a bracket alongside the carb which connects the throttle and TV cable securely. PO is using the original cables, too and I wonder if I need custom cables or if the original cables would work with the correct mounting bracket.

The issue is the throttle cable. They wear a groove out inside and make for a very heavy pedal. Pull it out, flip it upside down and reinstall it. That'll buy you some more time before you have to buy a new one.

Plus spray a bunch of WD40 or JB80 down inside the liner. They get dry and oxidized inside and make it hard for the wire to slide back and forth.
