I feel like my truck would run / idle so much better with a carb on it. has a tbi setup that was swapped in. idles high, stinks like raw fuel up front, exhaust stinks like gas. never stalls, runs pretty good, but not great. feel like motor would be way happier with a holley truck avenger or somethin. am i just frustrated and going backwards. maybe.

You're going backwards, give us some more info on your TBI and we can get you sorted out.

What codes is it throwing?

The very first thing you need to find out is if the cam is TBI friendly. If it's not you can chase your tail forever and never get it to run correctly. :deal:

not throwing any codes, but i don't know about the cam. engine is not stock. so I'd have to pull it apart I suppose. tbi is off an 88 k5 as is the computer, so time for some research.

non computer friendly cams = bad lowed problems on tbi and others.

need cam info for sure. thay like 112-114 lsa and nothin to crazy for lumpity thump cams also.

good upgrade cam for tbi if you have a block setup for roller cam use is a stock 350 lt1 cam

not so motor savy.. is there a way to check what cam is in there without pulling everything apart?

You could check valve lift, lobe seperation and duration assuming you have a dial indicator and a degree wheel.
