Just picked up a 87 3/4 ton that was originally a TBI setup. At some point a Eldelbrock MPI setup was put on the truck and the stock TBI unit was used for just the throttle body. What else should have been done to make this a working kit? The truck wants to fire and will hit but wont completely start or stay running. Any help in the right direction would be great! I was going to start by replacing the stock fuel pump with the EDL one for a MPI kit. Thanks.

Yep, it requires a high pressure pump. Don't forget to change the fuel filter also for a high pressure filter.

Can someone describe or draw me a pretty picture of what lines are what on the fuel tank pick-up? There are three lines. I know one is a pick-up, one a return, and i think one a vent. Just need the order of each. thanks.

Are two of them threaded?

Two threaded ones are obviously fuel, unthreaded is EVAP.

Can't remember on mine which fuel is in and which is out. I *think* someone posted a pic at one time that showed which was which?

Ahh, one of "those". :)

It's easy to pop the sender out if the tank is out, I'd recommend it if you need to know right now.

Usually the return line is smaller than the feed line and the evap line is smaller (or the same) as the return line.

well i got the lines worked out. set the timing and still having trouble, wont start. The problem is definetly ignition. Thinking about putting the 6.2 form the blazer in it and sell all the MPI stuff. Its never been run, just installed. IDK

Have you called Edelbrock? Wonder if they'll help for free?

Probably something simple like a power wire hooked up wrong, or a fuse.

talked with them the other day, just to make sure i had the complete setup. Ends up its all there, just cant seem to sort out the ignition and now i have a dead starter from turning in over so much. it looks like the original, so it was time for a replacement anyways.

do you have the new chip for Edelbrock for the ecm. need it to make the multi-port fire right.
