I just got my blazer all back together today and took it for a test drive. I was hoping to post up some of the winaldl data to see if anyone had any opinion on how dialed it it was because I don't quite understand how to read all the data and use it. Unfortunately I had several issues. First it fires up right away sometimes and other times it cranks for a while before starting. After reading the data I also seem to have a code 43 engine knock. the truck idles around 1100 rpm. I did the initial setup of checking timing. (Set at 4degrees) and fuel pressure (13psi) then disconnected the IAC to set base idle. Got the idle down real low but when i turn it off and start it again the idle seems right but after restarting the truck a second time the idle is back up high again. The last issue is when i stomp the gas it hesitates almost dies backfires thru the intake then takes off. Im posting these all up at once because i dont know if they may be related or not. Im trying to bring this truck back from the dead and im starting to get fed up with it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
background on the truck.....
89 blazer. rebuilt vortec 350. Crower TBI friendly roller cam. Double roller timing chain. Scorpion roller rockers. GMPP intake with egr. afe throttle body spacer. XtremeFI bored throttle body with bigger injectors and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Flat based open air cleaner. High volume fuel pump. high flow cat with flowmaster. MSD wires, distributor and coil. SMOG pump. dual electric fans. AC Delete. AD244 Alternator. New iac, tps, map, cts, egr, 700r4. Dual yellow Optimas. All new battery cables.
Truck was originally a US Forestry truck then was owned by a tweaker. had the frame straightened. replaced whole front clip. replaced Flintstones brake floor boards. removed the 2x4s holding up the honda radiator. removed all orange extension cords being used as battery cables. hopefully removed all hack jobs from the wire harnesses. This has been a 6 month project and i just want to get this thing back on the road.
Going to start with swapping out knock sensor and ESC. Where should I go from there? Thanks
