HEY GUYS IM ABOUT TO DO A HEART TRANSPLANT IN MY WILLYS AND IM HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING WHICH WAY TO GO /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I HAVE ACCESS TO A 350 TBI WITH HARNESS AND A 305 TPI WITH HARNESS. I'VE HEARD THAT WITH THE TPI I WILL HAVE MASS TOP END BUT LACK ON THE LOW END AND IM GRANNY GEAR KINDA GUY. ANY INPUT ON THE DIFFRENCE??

If you are going to stay stock or mildly modified I perfer TBI in a truck for its simplicity and lower cost.
Both TBI and TPI build good torque.
If you are going to modify the engine with a hotter Cam and more air flow then I would go with TPI. Because they are Mass Air flow based system they tolerate engine mods better than TBI systems.

Sounds like a great reason to put the TPI on the 350, and have the best of both worlds. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

TPI as it came from the factory was not a high RPM powerhouse. The long runners limit upper end horsepower, but torque is very impressive.
