I have a 454TB with 350 injectors on the 350 in my M1009 and it will not idle at a consistent rpm.Engine will idle really low and sometimes dies but always starts back.It seems to be the worst in town when sitting at a light. When in park or neutral it does not do it at all but it will vary a little up and down.I can adjust the idle and it helps but it is a higher RPM than I like when putting in gear.I have checked for vac leaks using carb cleaner and either with no luck. The harness and chip is from AFI and I am running a one wire O2 sensor in the header.

Also on a related/unrelated note it run's rich and will sut(sp) the plugs, but I have related that to the fact that I am not running a thermostat and it rarely gets above 180 degree's in normal driving.I reused a old temp sensor in the intake as well that might have went bad.My radiator has a leak and while I have it off I plan to change the thermostat, sensor, and rewire my Taurus fan with a Temp switch.

And why I'm at it the injectors are real noisy. You can hear them working sitting in the truck while it is idleing. Is that normal??

I would start by installing a 195* thermostat as the coolant temp switch needs to see this temp for the ECM to go closed loop. When it is in open loop it will run rich. Also make sure that you have the coolant temp switch located in the intake manifold Before the thermostat so it can read water temp within the intake manifold.

Also if you are running long tube headers you'll need a heated 3 wire 02 sensor otherwise the system will likely go open loop at idle.
