so i have replaced the output seal on the rear of my 208 3 times and it stll leaks . any suggestions as to the problem

The slip yoke could be worn down. Seen it a few times in high milage machines.

The 241 has a replaceable bushing in the tail shaft housing. Maybe the 208 does too. I had to replace the bushing to get my leak dried up.

Yeah, there is some kind of little seal that needs to go on there. If your slip yoke splines are worn too bad, then it won't seal properly. Sometimes it will actually slide down on the splines and you'll see it hanging out a little bit. Check out the vendor forum on this site. There's a company on there advertising slip yoke eliminators for NP205s and NP241s. I think it means NP208. That is the best thing you can do. Of course then you'll have to have a new driveshaft.

I had the front putput shaft Tcase seal leak on my 84 k5. The seal didnt fix it, they had to use some really thin sleeve, shop put it in and never leaked yet and its been 3-4 years.
