I'm sick of my low hanging NP208. I want to swap in a NP205. I need to know which one will work on my rig. I have a 1988 k5 blazer with a 302/700r/NP208 combo.
I think you may be disappointed swapping to a 205 expecting it not to hang lower. Mine hangs as low or lower than the 208's/241's originally installed.
Clocking the t-case is the best way to get rid of the beer belly.
i think diy (kert) may have a clocking ring, as far as a cheap sye kit , not going to happen. i am in the process of a do it myself sye using fixed yoke dodge parts but it's not done yet. i think the kit that is out there is like 650-700 range.
Ive been thinking the same way. I think Im just going to wait and do a doubler. I just havent seen alot of people out there with a 700r4 doubler combo. Ill be following this thread with anticipation lol.
I found a yoke from a turbo 400 in a 2500 van. Slips right on the shaft of a 208. Only catch is drilling and tapping the shaft for the 1/2 nf bolt, and welding the washer to the yoke. You will also have to use and adaptor spider to install a stock 1/2 to drive shaft. I'll send pics of yoke if wanted. Only cost me $8 at pull-n-save.
