Tcase swap or fix????

Thanks hankscorpio that s kinda what I figured... was just hoping to get them built while I'm waiting to pickup the trans and tcase next weekend

I did that swap it's been a long time but I remember it being considerably different 2-4" but no measurement I can get you.
I am sure there's a few left here that are still running the sm465/205 and can get you a measurement.
The 205 will need a longer shaft in the back

Hey fellas I have one more question for ya..... I just got the trans and case cleaned up and ready to go back in today and it hit me as I'm picking up tools... will my existing cross member work with the 205 or will i need a diff cross member...tia

If you got the 10 spline 205 the cross member is the same location.
The difference is where the hole is for the mounts
One side is the same location the other side is off.
Some years had a wide opening to fit both and some years had a round hole for specific tcase.
I have a bunch of them.
I happen to be going to Redding tomorrow morning if you get back to me I could meet with you

First check if you have 2 round holes or a round and a slot.
You might have the right one.
And I will take $15 for it
