TCC lockup ?? 700r4

This is an 84 700r4 with a Transgo kit installed. I have researched and found that the lockup should be controlled electronically, and that the tcc should release upon braking , correct? The tcc locks up way too quick for me. It locks up in 3rd gear even under load (about 3/4 pedal). However I have disconnected the wiring from the tranny with no change, and I cannot get it to unlock while braking. The lockup is very noticable, heck I thought it was the fourth gear shift for the longest.

Anyone using an aftermarket lockup kit. I would like it to lock in fourth only.

ive used bowtie overdrives one and it worked great, mine just never worked originally so that why i got it.

their directions were terrible, but went in pretty easy.
