Anyone know if the TCI TH700r4 Truck Master trannys are any good compared to having one rebuilt locally? (thinking more of price for value, can get the TCI through Jegs for $1329)

I bought mine 4 years back.No problems yet.I thought I had lost the 3-4 clutch pack once but it turned out to be the govner gear,it stripped.

I had the truck parked for 7 months while I rebuilt it and the speedo gear in the T/C rusted. When I got the truck on the road it took about 100 miles untill the rusted speedo drive gear ate away at the plastic govner gear.

What I'm saying here is that that failure was not TCI's fault. It cost $12.00 for a new gear and I was back on the road.

We don't like Raptor Trannies around these parts....................

Ok..... scared me off of the raptors for sure!, anyone else have any thoughts on the trannies from 700r4.com?

Hughes Transmissions builds great units.. I have used them in both street & race vehicles.. They just came out with a 4L80 HD towing transmission as well as their 700R4 HD.
Price is in line with the others.... Plus that's all they do....
