Teaser Rear Winch Bumper Pics

The reason I say teaser is because I am not bulding bumpers to sell at this time. But I did want to share my latest project - a rear winch bumper with ground clearance and a good departure/approach angle....

The remote mounted solenoid box is inside and mounted over the left rear speaker for easy access and where it can stay nice and dry.

I have also increased the length and angled the side protection bars for better quarter panel protection.

The winch is a Ramsey Patriot Profile 9500 with synthetic rope.

Well, gotta go. I have some sliders to build...

i like the look! and now for a little constructive criticizm... whats with the tube across the taillight? i would move it up a little higher, over the top of the taillight, maybe even add another tube immediately below the taillight, for a little more protection, as well as to aid in visibility of the taillights. another plus would be ease of changing taillights/bulbs. do the taillights even come out with the current configuration? looks as if they wouldnt.

I was going for the most protection possible. And I don't like the look of the tube standing a foot or two above the bumper. The higher that bar is from the bumper the more strength you loose due to the increased amount of leverage. Visibility is not an issue. The bar is below the actual brake light in the housing and above the reverse lights. This was by design.

You are right about the tailights. You have to remove a couple bumper bolts and let the bumper drop about an inch to get the tailight covers off.

Looks sweet! However, the bar across the tail light looks like a good reason for cops to stop and hassle ya.

I guess, since I don't really drive it on the street much I wasn't worried about it. I have been driving with this bumper for a couple years with no issues. But I trailer it for any long hauls to the trail.

I really don't think it's an issue. There are a ton of after market lens guards out there, but if a cop doesn't like you, they will look for any excuse...

good point on the strength, didnt really think of that. so long as the tube falls between the sockets, shouldnt be an issue. might not be a bad idea to replace all or the rear lamp bulbs before installation. how often do they go out anyways. good to see someone putting alot of thought into a quality product.
