i have read a few threads about this with no real anwser to my question..im rebuiling my 52s tomm...is there anything i can get from the harware store that is sufficiant enough to replace the teflon spring pads that are in there now??i read jekbrowns 52 spring writeup but not real sure around here where to get the stuff he used...thanks guys

Many companies that sell lift kits sell those teflon pads. IIRC a set of 4 to do 1 spring is only around 10.00.

maybe that stuff you put under furniture to slide it? sort of a longshot, but it's strong and seems to have a low coefficient of friction with pretty much everything.

Go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Buy the super cheap flexible cutting board/ sheets. Durable, flexible, cheap and your wife will want to go with you! I've never tried it for your application though, so good luck!

Sounds like a great suggestion to me, i'd try it.

If not that, get creative, and use any firm, hard, thin, and flexible plastic. Never thought about those cutting boards, but its probably as easy as it gets. Might be hard to find long ones though.....maybe they'll melt together?
