Hey all, been a long time since I posted on here, since I don't own a K5 anymore. But I do however own a 4 door 94 S10 Blazer. I've never done Blazer Bash but I would love to get out there this year for it. I've never done any off road event so I'm just not sure what to expect or how to navigate it. I have been to Moab once before, but my rig was broken, so I rented a sxs and did a couple trails, and then did a couple mild ones in my Cummins powered Super Duty.

Do I just kind of show up? Do I need to register? What will communication be like? Do we all just meet at the trailhead at a specified time?
I normally trailer my rig since it is hilariously bad on the road. Will a parking spot for my truck and trailer at the trailhead be a problem, or should I just suck it up, air up my tires and drive the trail rig there?

I know Wade used to run this shindig, but he moved to TN I think. Is he still a part of it? I had the privilege of wheeling with him once, super good dude.

@kgblazerfive is running the show now; this is his first year doing so

Some people trailer their rigs to moab, then drive them around from trail to trail. If your rig is not road friendly that's the way to go. Each trail leader will have a meetup time and place before the trail run. Usually everyone meets at the park which is pretty easy to find and get organized. It's a good group of guys and everybody is willing to help out and show people the ropes. There's not really a worry about not knowing exactly what to do as the communication is usually pretty good.

Check in is usually located at the campground and the schedule for that should be shown on the site. That's where you can get the majority of information.

Great info, thank you. What park and what campground are you referring to? Is there a specific campground we are all going to stay at? I was just about to book a spot kind of at random.

Camp, stay, where ever you want. I think I put up a link for like 10% off at some of the Hotels. A lot of people stay in an Airbnb, some, most, are cheaper then a Hotel. But they have their tradeoffs too.

Old City Park in Moab is where we are going to meet each morning to run the trail, for now. The BBQ on Friday night is also there.

Go on trails w a good spotter, and listen to them!
Dont let someone get you in over your ability or the vehicle’s ability.
I admit I had no idea what I was doing the first time I went, and my rig was untested. ItI was a great trip, but I got in over my green driving ability a couple times. Second time I went was a blast, I was confident in my rig and had alot more experience in it, so I tried a few more challenging things. Good times!

I’ve never been but just to say it out loud, it’s very important to register for the event. The city and county don’t necessarily want the tourism so they monitor the events and pay attention to the participating numbers, events that are under reported get penalized or banned.

OK, so where/how do I register?

Glad to see discussion on the 'bash. We are excited to be a part of the event as first timers this year!!

I went last year as a rider; it was kinda last minute and was lucky enough to find a place to stay and a passenger seat. I hope to go back this year with my Blazer.
I should probably start working on it sometime, nah; still got a few months left. :pimp1:
