Are there any spots left on the CUCV 6.2 for a temp sending unit? I believe there's already one for the idiot light and one for the injector pump?

Why not use the one for the idiot light?

From having mine apart I can say yes but I'm hesitant to suggest one because mine is still apart and I'm not sure of other obstructions.

Just poke around;) If you can weld a bung on there are several more:D

I thought about using the idiot light spot, but I'd like to keep the original gauges/lights functional if possible.

I believe there is something you can use there that lets you keep both, I think the sender for the guage has also a light provision, it comes on when it gets to 250

the temp sender for the idiot light goes into a small plate on the rear of teh engine, on the opossing side of the engine there is a block off plate. you simply remove the block off plate and get another threaded one from the dealer.

Interesting. Any idea of part # or application or anything?

water temp (idiot) light = left lower corner of speedometer = sending unit on left cylinder head right beneath the first glow plug.
Maybe you could change this to a light/gauge combo unit.

My temp sending unit is installed on left side cyl head near the firewall. It's the place for the temp switch for the glow plug harness. However I went to manual glow long time ago, this seemed to be the perfect spot for my temp switch.
