Hey Stephen,

This is just a placeholder for our other discussion from "Fabricators Forum / Center of Gravity / Unusual Vehicular Modifications, etc."

When you get some pricing and availability info on the ends and rebuild kits, you can just post it here

That way, you can avoid having me call your shop EVERY day from now on!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I'm curious to see what the difference is between these and the RE and Johnny Joints?

OK Stephen.....

You have ONE more day to respond, and then I'm going to call and bug you directly!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously...I'm sure there are some other folks here who like this information too, so how's about throwing us a few scraps???

I'll see if I can get a catalog and price list a little ahead of when I'm supposed to. I doubt anything will happen with this till mid next week, right before/during thanksgiving.

Hmmmm....... Should I buy a turkey this week, or some TeraFlex rod ends???? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

.....maybe if I knew the price, I could solve this age-old dilemma! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'll have to bug them again, I think I'm on the big catalog list, I need to make enough noise to get on the special "send it now" catalog list.

BTT....

Happy New Year TeraFlex, now gimme some damn prices!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Knock, Knock......

Who's there?

TerraFlex rod end pricing......

Apparently they're working on new pricing now and should be done in a couple of days. I'm supposed to get the e version sent to me so we don't have to worry about snail mail. We'll see how quickly that goes.

[tumbleweed] ....hello?...........TeraFlex?........... anyone out there?....... [/tumbleweed]

WE NOW HAVE PRICING!

With the spherical insert, they're $63.00 each, that includes the jam nut. With a standard urethane spherical welded solid on the other end of the arm, or just a standard urethane bushing assembly even, this creates a pretty reasonable link arm. You'll still have $130 to $150 in each link but it's going to be hard to do it with less. And still have beefy bend resistant parts with some adjustability to them.

Stephen,

Any update on the backorder....?

It would be nice to have some ends to continue fabbing. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

.

So Mr. Greg, did you ever find out the difference between these and the RE joints or Johnny Joints? I'm running the large RE's in the rear of my truck and they work great. Also have a set of JJ's in the garage waiting to go on the front if I can ever afford another set of coilovers. I'm curious to see if the TF ones are just another version of the same thing and were waiting for nothing, or if they are something uber cool and the greatest thing on earth! /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

well, the current update on the tera ends is that they're not available yet, and they're 6 weeks or so out, again.
I don't think they're going to be drastically different than anything out there, the cool thing we're looking at is that they come with a nice housing with lots of thread and modular inserts. Otherwise, they're not that big a deal.

Stephen, how are they compared to say a Jimmy Joint?

I have been thinking about these for the front for a while...

Jason,

Is that a welded connection between the thread and the outer housing?

The TeraFlex ends seem to be much thicker around the perimeter than what you posted, and think they are made from a 1-piece forging???

I don't know what the psi rating is on the J.J. vs. TeraFlex, but from a purely non-scientific "beefy-looking" evaluation, I'll bet they have more ultimate strength than what you have pictured there.

What are the costs on those joints BTW??? TeraFlex is around $100 ea. IIRC.

The cool thing about the tera joints was/is going to be the blend of price, strength and different inserts. The jimmy joint looks good, but I think it's pretty pricy. That's really the only other joint I know of that has the treads built into it which is one thing that makes a big difference. At some point we run into the price of running 2 big heims and being done with it.
The ideal (?) cheap (?) link arm is proving elusive.
