This is posted in the regional section as well, but after the "Hollister Hills" thread, I thought I could get away with this too. If not, mod away
Hey guys, I'm wanting to do some legit offroading before I move to Austin for my first year of college, and have heard some good things about Barnwell.
If I nail down a weekend in about 3 or 4 weeks, will anyone in the area feel like coming out? I plan to drive up from here(Lufkin, TX) with a few of my friends on Friday, leaving around noon or early afternoon, and getting there to set up camp and get a feel for the place. Waking up bright and early Saturday for a full day of wheeling and some good food that night, and then possibly doing some other light stuff Sunday morning before heading out.
None of the vehicles going with me (most likely) or mine are "hardcore" (lockers, winches, etc.), so mostly easy to moderate trail riding will be the majority of what we ride. I'm hoping the trail marking system Barnwell uses is on par with what I've heard/read.
Here's the link to the Barnwell site: www.barnwellmountainra.com
So, looks like the weekend will either be August 7th-9th, or the 14th-16th. Let me know if there's interest.
