i'm headed out there soon with my 82 k5. i want to go top off (solid front cab, of course, and rollbar at rear, above tailgate, from po). does that comply with their rules? i don't want to drive 150 miles, from fort worth, to get turned away, but wheelin' open is a lot more fun, imo.

It's probably too late for the answer, but you should be in compliance with most any place. Usually as long as you have a metal roof of some sort, the cage is overlooked. SO, being topless and still having a metal halfcab should be fine (usually is)... especially if you have the rear bar.

I dont remember there being any requirement for a cage when I went back in february. I dont have one in my burb and I dont think they even saw the truck. I'm prety sure they dont even require insurance. You should be good to go.
