I am rebuilding my TH350 and I need new Roller-Clutch Sprags (both intermediate and Low/Reverse).

Overall the transmission looks good other than a broken rear output gear, which I think I have sourced. The sprags were tired. The roller bearings won't stay in the sprag as the tension provided by the springs is all but gone. I actually found one bearing floating free in the transmission but assume it fell out during disassemble as there was no damage to components.

This is a stock setup and is going into a 74 Jimmy. This truck won't see anything harsh going forward so I don't need anything fancy.

There is a set on Ebay made by Tri Components and they run $110.83 before tax. But, there are other sets that run in $55-$65 range. I'm not so concerned with the price as is there something specific I should be looking for? Or, are all sprags essentially the same for these transmissions?

TH350 are cheap transmissions to rebuild.....I'm doubtful that I could get quality parts cheaper than a full scale transmission shop....

One snowmobiler in the club owns a shop.....he can do it cheaper than I can.....not worth persuring it myself.

You are 100% correct. I already priced it out and there is zero.zero economic reason to do it myself. I simply think it would be fun and I get to learn something new. Honestly, I enjoy the disassembly, inspection and cleaning process. And there is a certain satisfaction in taking something that is old and warn out and restoring it back to like-new; all with my own to hands and simple brain.

Edit: I felt my last statement was unintentionally meanspirited. So, I removed it.

I just rebuilt a 4L80E transmission a little while ago. Those are an overdrive version of the T400. When it came to the sprags there was an older 12-element sprag version, and a newer 32-element sprag version. My transmission just happened to have the old 12-element version, and it got upgraded to the newer 32-element version. I do not know if the T350 has that same older version sprag versus newer version issue. Even if the T350 does have that issue the older version will not even be available to buy anyway so you will have to buy any new version anyway. There are not a dozen manufactures of T350 sprag bearing choices to choose from so no matter what price you see most likely the sprag bearing probably came off the same assembly line as a more expensive one.
